Process

As a former dialysis social worker, I use a combination of Supportive Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients deal with their stressors and life transitions. My experience with life transitions and loss has enhanced my therapeutic skills. My approach is to allow my clients the space to tell me about themselves and their lives, and what they hope to accomplish in therapy. We discuss what changes they would like to make and I work with them to develop the tools they need to process their experiences, feel empowered, and take control of their lives. I encourage my clients to set goals and to recognize and explore the barriers that are preventing them from achieving their goals.
